WOW Badge COMPETITION WINNER
We have very exciting news. Franek has won the WOW badge competition. It is a competition run yearly, where pupils from across the United Kingdom are asked to design a WOW badge for the following year. It is one of the biggest design competitions for children with over 120,000 entries. Franek's design will be on the December badge. We are very proud of him. Congratulations!!!! :-)
Cycling and Scooting in
Monday 10th – Friday 14th June: Year 5 Cycle Training
Year 5 pupils participated in level 1 and 2 Bikeability Training. This safe, structured and standardised programme is designed to make children more competent cyclists and prepare them for cycling on the road. The Mayor Mick Hayes presented them with their badge and certificate.
Monday 17th – Friday 21st June: The Golden Lock
Every day during this special week, a golden lock was locked at random on a bike or scooter. If the pupil received the lock, they received prizes!
Thursday 20th June: Clean Air Day = Car free zone around our school
On Thursday 20th June, people around the UK came together for Clean Air Day. It’s a day to spread the word about air pollution, to know what we can do to tackle it and how to protect our health. Teachers delivered a special session about Clean Air Day and we had a CAR FREE ZONE around our school with families travelling to school by foot, bike or scooter.
Thursday 20th June: Bling your bike or scooter
Pupils had the opportunity to bling their bike or scooter. These pupils took part in a special parade to showcase their bling to the rest of the school. This was a huge success with many incredible designs! The Mayor Mick Hayes was also there to present the three winners with their prizes.
Thursday 20th June: Bike It and Scoot It Breakfast
Pupils who cycled or scooted to school on this day received a free breakfast in the school hall from 8am.
Throughout June and July: Reception and Year 1 Balance Bike Sessions
Some members of staff undertook Balance Bike Training earlier this year and are giving balance bike sessions to pupils in Reception and Year 1. This will take place in small groups during school time. Balance bikes are for non-cyclists and prepares children to ride a bike with the key focus being on balance.

We had over 90 walkers, which is fantastic! :-)
We also celebrated Shoesday, where pupils and staff came to school wearing their favourite pair of shoes!
